Much of people’s ire has been spent bashing the TYH movement for their questionable song releases and bright colored jumpers. Below is a list of 5 much more problematic things facing Chabad and the frum world.

Derher Fundraisers

Every so often, A Chassidisher Derher magazine will make a Chinese auction fundraiser for their magazine. You’ll see propaganda how they bring the Rebbe and Chassidus into people’s houses. There’s one issue: you’re a subscriber based publication. Do you ever see the Ami magazine make raffles? No. They have advertisers, not a wall of honor of donors on their front page. If you can’t get advertisers because your magazine doesn’t reach enough people, maybe partner with the Crown Edition.

Yeshiva Mivtzas

“The public has already threshed” this topic. But whenever I hear this word announced in a Yeshiva I cringe. When you tell a goy “you keep the 7 cuz we have 613” remember that the Rebbe gave us plenty of Mivtzoim and we don’t need to invent another 613.

The Circle Magazine

The Circle is a children’s magazine for frum kids based in Lakewood. Every week they have a news page with different news stories. May I ask why our kids need to know about Trumps tariffs or the Supreme Court rulings on transgenderism? When I was a kid we barely knew the name of the First Lady! Kids are happy and innocent and don’t need to be bothered with this kind of news. Stick the news like the Zman magazine had: totally random fun things that may or may not be true.

WhatsApp Statuses

“I don’t have social media,” says the bochur on YWN, JBN, KosherShorts, and every other influencer out there. “Ya but they’re muted,” he tells you as he pulls out his phone to see the latest AI Trump wearing a streimel video. Personal statuses are a subject for another time.

#1

Ben Shapiro

By the very virtue of Ben wearing yarmulka, there has now been a normalization of bochurim heavily following politics, pop culture and specifically the content in which “his company” produces. A movie is a movie and a rap song is a rap song even if it was funded by an Orthodox Jew. You know how many Jews were/are in Hollywood? That doesn’t make their content Kosher. Ben is the perfect example of everything wrong with Modern Orthodoxy. We don’t need to hear him or his Daily Wire hosts lecture us about the virtues of Christianity. Heck, Ben can sometimes get more offended on behalf of Christians than the Christians themselves. His show and shorts have him constantly covering Kol Isha, scantily dressed women, and Christian ideas. Ben Shapiro and his company have probably brought more Jews closer to the New Testament than any missionary organization ever has.

Facts don’t care about your feelings.

“If you disagree you can come to the front of the line.”
